EmmaWonder ("we", "our") is committed to protecting your and your child's privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our app and services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly. That includes account credentials (email/password or Google sign-in), optional profile data, and the content you create (for example story topics and characters). We also collect usage data, such as how you use the app (for example stories created and activities completed). We use this information to improve our services and to provide parental insights when you use the Parent Dashboard.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve EmmaWonder. This includes processing subscriptions and payments, personalizing the experience (for example language and age-appropriate content), and communicating with you about your account. We use AI services (such as Google Gemini) to generate stories and images. Inputs you provide are processed according to those providers' privacy policies.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase (hosted infrastructure). For paid users, data may be retained according to your subscription terms. We use industry-standard measures to protect data. Stories and progress are associated with your account and are not shared with other users.

4. Children's Privacy

EmmaWonder is designed for use by parents or guardians with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without parental involvement. Account creation, subscription, and settings are intended for adults. If you believe we have collected a child's information in error, please contact us. We will delete it.

5. Third-Party Services

We use Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (payments), and Google (Gemini AI for story and image generation). Their use of data is governed by their privacy policies. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to certain processing. You can manage your account and delete your data through the app or by contacting us. If you are in the EU, we process data on lawful bases such as contract performance and legitimate interests.

7. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy. Where required, we will notify you of material changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (for example language, theme, and voice settings), and improve the app. Our payment provider (Stripe) may also set cookies when you use payment features. We do not use these technologies for advertising. You can control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser or device settings. Some features may not work if you disable them.
